Come to Foshan and choose your materials in person
Three to five days in Foshan is the most efficient way to finish a house or a hotel: you see the real products, meet the factories and leave with signed pro-forma invoices. Here is how we organise it.
How many days
- 2 days – one category (for example tiles and bathrooms) for a house.
- 3–4 days – a full villa package: tiles, bathrooms, windows, doors, lighting, kitchen.
- 5–7 days – hotel, apartment building or importer programme with factory audits and mock-ups.
Before you fly
- Send us your list two weeks ahead: drawings, room schedule, quantities, photos of styles you like, budget per category. We pre-visit factories and prepare a route so no day is wasted.
- Visa – many nationalities now enter China visa-free for short business or tourist stays; others obtain a visa or use the 240-hour transit exemption via Guangzhou. We send an invitation letter if your consulate asks for one.
- Payments – factories take bank transfer (T/T) to a company account; some accept Alipay/WeChat linked to a foreign card for samples. Bring a card that works abroad and a little cash.
- Apps – install WeChat, which is how factories here communicate, and a translation app. Some international services are not reachable on local networks, so download anything you need before you travel and check roaming with your mobile provider.
Where to stay
For a tile-heavy trip, stay in Chancheng near the ceramics district (several international-standard hotels within 15 minutes of Huaxia). For mixed trips, Guangzhou’s Zhujiang New Town works too – 50–60 minutes to most markets. We pick you up at the hotel every morning.
A day with us
9:00 pick-up. We drive you to the market or factory, introduce you, translate and negotiate. You decide what you like; we write down model numbers, sizes and prices, collect samples and photograph everything. Lunch is usually at a factory canteen or a local restaurant. By 18:00 you are back at the hotel with a summary of the day’s shortlist. We repeat until the list is complete, then sit down together to finalise quantities and pro-forma invoices.
What to bring
- Drawings with dimensions (PDF on a laptop is fine) and a room-by-room finish schedule
- Photos or a mood board of the look you want
- Samples of anything you need to match (an existing tile, a paint colour)
- Your electrician’s and plumber’s requirements: voltage, drain positions, rough-in sizes
- Comfortable shoes – showrooms are big
After the trip
We handle everything: deposits paid by you directly to factories, sample sealing, production follow-up, inspection, consolidation and shipping. Most buyers receive their container 8–12 weeks after the visit.
Fees for the visit
One commission covers the whole job: the factory and market visits, finding and checking suppliers, negotiation, specifications written in Chinese, sample sealing, order organisation, the export paperwork, production follow-up, pre-shipment inspection, container consolidation, and after-sales follow-up with the manufacturer.
