Foshan building materials markets – a working guide
Foshan is not one market but a ring of specialised towns, each with its own showrooms and factories. This is how we organise buying days for our clients, market by market.
Getting your bearings
Foshan sits directly west of Guangzhou; the two cities have grown together. Guangzhou Baiyun airport (CAN) is about 45–60 minutes by car from the ceramics district, and Hong Kong is 2.5 hours by high-speed rail to Guangzhou South, then 30 minutes by car. Most buyers stay in Chancheng (near the tile markets) or in Guangzhou and drive out each morning. Markets open around 9:00 and are quiet on Sundays; factories work Monday to Saturday.
Ceramic tiles – Nanzhuang, Chancheng district
China Ceramics City (中国陶瓷城) is the established showroom complex where the national brands keep their flagship displays. Huaxia Ceramics Expo City (华夏陶瓷博览城), a few kilometres away in Nanzhuang, is larger and more factory-oriented: hundreds of showrooms, many run directly by kilns, with better prices and more willingness to do OEM. Cihai International (瓷海国际) is the place for large-format sintered slabs. One full day covers all three if you know what you are looking for; two days if you are still deciding on style. Sanitary ware – Shiwan and Nanhai
The bathroom brands cluster around Shiwan (old Foshan ceramics town) and along the Foshan–Guangzhou road in Nanhai, with the Yimeijia Bathroom & Ceramics World as the main multi-brand hall. Toilets, basins, cabinets, showers and smart toilets are all here. Brass faucets are made in Kaiping, 1.5 hours south-west – worth a half-day trip for hotel projects, otherwise we work from samples. Aluminium doors, windows and profiles – Dali, Nanhai
Dali is where China’s largest extruders sit, and the window and door assembly factories are spread around them. There is no single showroom market; you visit factories, look at their system displays and the workshop, and then work from drawings. Lighting – Guzhen, Zhongshan
Fifty minutes south of Foshan, Guzhen is a whole town of lighting showrooms: the Lighting Capital complex and the streets around it cover decorative fixtures, while LED factories are on the industrial estates behind. It pairs well with a Kaiping faucet visit on the same day. Lighting guide →
Stone – Yunfu
Yunfu, 90 minutes west, is China’s largest stone processing centre: kilometres of slab yards and cut-to-size workshops along the highway. Go with a shortlist of stone types; there is too much to browse. Stone guide →
Cabinets and furniture – Shunde and Lecong
Kitchen and wardrobe factories are in Shunde (Lunjiao, Beijiao) and along the Lecong furniture belt, which also holds the world’s largest furniture markets. If your project needs furniture as well, we combine both into one route and one container.
Flooring, hardware, paint, glass
These have showrooms scattered across Foshan’s decoration-materials malls and are best handled from samples plus one factory visit each. We bring samples to your hotel for the categories that do not justify a market day.
