Kitchen & Bathroom Cabinets from China – buyer’s guide
Foshan’s Shunde and Nanhai districts are China’s biggest cabinet-making cluster, next to the furniture factories of Lecong. Kitchens, vanities and wardrobes are made to your drawings, flat-packed or assembled, with hardware from Blum, Hettich or Chinese equivalents.
Construction and materials
Carcass: 18 mm melamine-faced particleboard (E1 or E0) is standard; plywood or moisture-resistant MDF for humid climates and for all bathroom vanities. Doors: melamine (cheapest, durable), PET film (matt, fingerprint-resistant, often good value), high-gloss acrylic, lacquer (painted MDF – the premium look, more fragile in transit), solid wood or veneer. Countertops: quartz is made in Foshan at very good prices (see stone & quartz); sintered slabs are the current premium choice.
Hardware
Hinges and drawer runners decide how a kitchen ages. Blum and Hettich are stocked by most Foshan factories and add USD 30–80 per linear metre; DTC and other Chinese brands are good and much cheaper. Ask for soft-close on all doors and drawers, and full-extension undermount runners on drawers.

Drawings and approval
Send a plan with dimensions, ceiling height, window and door positions, and where the appliances go. The factory returns a 3D layout and elevation drawings; you approve every dimension, the door style, colour and hardware. For projects with repeated units (apartments, hotels) we build one sample kitchen first.
Packing and shipping
Kitchens are shipped flat-packed (carcass panels edge-banded and pre-drilled, doors packed separately with foam corners) or pre-assembled for smaller runs. A typical villa kitchen is 6–10 m³ flat-packed. Vanities are shipped assembled. All timber packing must be ISPM-15 heat-treated for most destinations – we check this.
