SPC flooring, WPC decking and wall panels from China
A factory sourcing guide to specifications, cost breakdowns, sample approval and export packing.
Match the material to its intended use
SPC flooring, WPC decking and acoustic wall panels solve different problems. Compare them by installation conditions and required performance, not only by appearance or price per square metre. Indoor flooring, an exposed deck and a sound-absorbing wall need separate specifications.
| Category | What to specify | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| SPC flooring | Total thickness, wear layer, finish, locking system and backing | Dimensions, joint fit and relevant performance evidence |
| WPC decking | Profile, composition, surface, supports and fixings | Installation guidance and outdoor suitability |
| Acoustic wall panels | Face material, backing, panel size and mounting | Acoustic report for the tested assembly and fire requirements |
| Laminate | Core, surface, joint and intended use | Product-specific data and moisture limitations |
| Engineered wood | Species, veneer, substrate, finish and grading | Approved appearance range and installation conditions |
SPC flooring quotation checklist
Separate the plank thickness from any attached backing. Specify the wear layer, plank dimensions, finish and locking system. Ask for matching skirting, transitions and stair components at the same time. The accessory finish may differ from the plank, so approve both.
Request evidence for the exact product and destination requirements. Marketing claims such as waterproof, commercial grade or low emissions need context and documentation. They do not mean every subfloor condition or installation method is acceptable. Follow the manufacturer instructions approved for the project.
WPC decking is a complete system
Specify boards, joists, clips, edge pieces and fasteners together. Confirm spans, ventilation, expansion gaps, drainage and site exposure with the project designer. Hollow and solid profiles can behave differently, and a thicker board alone does not establish structural suitability.
Compare the finished deck cost rather than boards alone. Include the support system, cut waste, fixings and installation labour. Ask how colour variation and weathering are described in the warranty. Keep a reference sample and the agreed installation manual.
Acoustic panels need assembly-specific evidence
A slatted appearance does not demonstrate sound absorption. Ask what panel, backing, air space and mounting arrangement were tested. A result for a different assembly may not represent your wall. Acoustic absorption also differs from sound insulation between rooms.
For public or commercial spaces, have the project professional confirm fire and interior finish requirements. Check substrate, adhesive and backing rather than relying only on the decorative face. Keep product identification consistent across the quotation, report and carton label.
Compare the full cost breakdown
| Cost line | How to compare |
|---|---|
| Material | Same dimensions, finish, construction and performance |
| Accessories | Quantity of trims, clips, backing and supports |
| Customisation | Colour setup, embossing, tooling and packaging |
| Quality checks | Samples, inspection and any required testing |
| Transport | Pallet dimensions, gross weight and delivery basis |
| Installation | Subfloor preparation, labour and required consumables |
Minimum quantities depend on the colour, stock and production setup. Ask for written MOQs per design and a dated quotation. The lead time should state when it starts and allow for sample approval and any testing. Avoid treating a general factory range as a committed delivery date.
Inspect and consolidate the order
Compare colour and finish across selected cartons, measure the specified dimensions and check joint fit where relevant. Review visible damage, accessory counts and labels. Destructive or laboratory checks should be agreed separately with an appropriate testing provider.
Use actual packed weights when planning consolidation with tiles and cabinetry. Protect long boards and panel edges from point loads. Ask the supplier for storage and handling instructions and share them with the destination installer.
Buyer questions
Can I mix colours in one order?
Often for stock products, but each colour may have its own minimum. Confirm quantities and availability before the deposit.
Do all acoustic panels have the same performance?
No. Materials, backing and installation affect the result. Compare reports for the proposed assembly.
How much extra material should I order?
Have the installer calculate cutting waste and spares from the layout, pattern and future replacement needs. There is no single percentage for every project.
Coordinate inspection and shipping
Use our pre-shipment inspection checklist to agree checks before payment and our container consolidation guide to coordinate packing and supplier ready dates. Confirm destination requirements with the product documentation guide.
Plan the next step
Send your specifications, quantities, destination and required delivery date. We will clarify the sourcing scope, supplier checks, inspection requirements and shipment coordination before you commit.
